VH1's Moll moves up from 'Behind'

Cabler ups producer to sr. VP of prod'n, programming

HOLLYWOOD -- VH1 has upped "Behind the Music" co-creator-exec producer George Moll to the newly created post of senior VP of production and programming, adding development and production of documentary longforms and minis to his duties.

In addition, the cable net named Gotham-based producer Lee Rolontz VP of original music production. She replaces Todd Schwartz, who left VH1 last year.

Both execs report directly to Fred Graver, exec VP of programming and production for VH1.

Santa Monica-based Moll, who continues to serve as one of the exec producers of "Behind the Music," joined VH1 as director of West Coast production in 1996 and earned veep stripes in 1997. He is credited with producing more than 175 episodes of "Behind the Music," as well as many other VH1 documentary series and specs.

Among his upcoming VH1 projects is "Ultimate Albums," which premieres in March.

Rolontz, who most recently worked as a Gotham-based producer specializing in music and variety programming, will be responsible for overseeing VH1's music event programming. That includes the annual "VH1 Divas Live" concert, "VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards," "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Concert" and "My VH1 Music Awards."

Previously, as VP of video production for Sony's Columbia Records Group, Rolontz oversaw the production of all musicvids and visual productions for Columbia Records and associated labels.
