Plural taps Fernandez

Director to supervise content development, creation

MADRID -- Spanish producer Plural Entertainment has tapped Carlos Fernandez as its Madrid-based director.

A former programming director at commercial net Antena 3, Fernandez will supervise content development and creation at Plural. He will report to Plural prexy Jose Vicuna.

While many Spanish companies are slimming their ranks, Fernandez's appointment underscores continuing growth at Plural, which is a wholly owned subsid of Spanish media giant Prisa. More appointments are likely to follow.

"We aim to have some 30 projects in different stages of development or production this year," said Plural managing director Luis Fernandez, who heads the company's New York office.

Plural was launched in February 2001 to co-produce features, formats, series and docus across the Spanish-speaking world.
