MuchMusic goes 'Live'

Show to feature voting process on Internet

HOLLYWOOD -- Music cabler MuchMusic USA will launch half-hour program "Dedicate Live!" on Feb. 14.

Show will use a format similar to that of MTV's popular "Total Request Live," in which viewers will be able to request the airing of certain musicvideos, as well as give dedications to accompany the selected clips.

Unlike "TRL," "Dedicate Live!" will allow all viewers, rather than a select handful, to participate in the video voting process. Interested participants can log onto the show's Web site, www.mmusa.tv, and give either love or hate dedications. Information will then be sent from the viewer's computer immediately to the show, where videos and dedications will be aired.

"We wanted to create a show that gives people across the country a true voice," said company prexy Marc Juris, adding that MuchMusic USA "believes that an all-request live music program should be powered by the people, not a lucky few."

Following its debut, "Dedicate Live!" will air Monday through Thursday at 5 p.m. ET.
