It's time for 'Gal' on Sundance net

'Sleepy' set for TV premiere

Sundance Channel has acquired U.S. television rights to Christopher Munch's "The Sleepy Time Gal," which premiered at last year's Sundance Film Festival.

After a February engagement at Gotham's Walter Reade Theater, the feature will make its world TV preem on the channel March 29.

"Sleepy Time Gal" stars Jacqueline Bisset as a middle-age writer and onetime jazz DJ facing her mortality. Written and directed by Munch, film was produced by Munch and Ruth Charny. Jim McKay and Michael Stipe's C-Hundred Film Corp. served as co-producers.

In addition to Bisset, pic features Seymour Cassel, Nick Stahl and Martha Plimpton.
