LONDON -- Granada is combining its interests in Premier League soccer clubs Arsenal and Liverpool, as well as Manchester United soccer club's TV channel, into a single division, Granada Sport & Interactive.
Move will make it easier for Granada's online sports businesses to work with the ITV company's TV production arm.
Granada owns 9.9% of Liverpool and is a partner in the club's nascent online business, Liverpoolfc.tv. It also has a 5% stake in Arsenal and is a partner in Arsenal Broadband.
Plans to up stake
Granada is expected to up its stake in Arsenal to 9.9%, the most media companies are allowed to hold in a club, after Arsenal recently received permission to build a new stadium.
Granada also owns a third of MUTV, a joint venture with Manchester United and satcaster BSkyB.
