Japanese indies ink for pic pact

Movie TV, Sundance deal to begin with Kirino's 'Out'

TOKYO -- Japanese film distributor Movie Television has inked a pic pact with Tokyo's Sundance Co.

The first project will be based on Natsuo Kirino's bestselling novel "Out." Movie Television, which went public Dec. 13, will organize a production committee to raise public funds for the project.

Shooting will begin in February for an October release by 20th Century Fox in theaters and Movie Television on TV.
