Par Classics 'Cannes' do for Jaglom
Biting romantic laffer focuses on int'l film fest

The biting romantic comedy, written and directed by Jaglom and starring Anouk Aimee, Maximilian Schell, Greta Scacchi, Ron Silver and Zack Norman, is set within the world of the international movie biz during the Cannes Intl. Film Festival. Pic reveals the sometimes glamorous, often duplicitous world of actors, writers, directors, agents, producers, executives and wannabes united by ambition and a willingness to do almost anything necessary to get what they want, professionally or romantically.
"Cannes" was produced by John Goldstone in association with Judith Wolinsky.
"We are overjoyed to be working with Henry Jaglom and such an accomplished cast," said Paramount Classics co-prexys Ruth Vitale and David Dinerstein. " 'Festival in Cannes' is as much a hilarious look at our business as it is an endearing love story. Henry's made some wonderful films in the past, but this is by far his most accessible and accomplished."
Jaglom said: " 'Festival in Cannes' was a great experience. I am so proud of this cast, and I'm thrilled with Paramount Classics' enthusiasm and support."
Par Classics recently acquired "Triumph of Love," directed by Clare Peploe, produced by Bernardo Bertolucci, and starring Ben Kingsley and Mira Sorvino; "The Reckoning," starring Willem Dafoe and Paul Bettany; and the romantic comedy of errors "The Emperor's New Clothes," starring Ian Holm in a double role.
