Black Talent sets its return
Publication looks to expand with new funding

The magazine has secured a six-figure investment from a silent partner, said publisher Tanya Kersey-Henley.
Founded by Henley in 1994, Black Talent News returns with the December issue, which features stories on Bernie Mac and Damon Wayans.
Kersey-Henley told Daily Variety she has focused on expanding the magazine's Web site, which sees up to 200,000 visitors a month, while searching for the latest round of financing.
Forthcoming issues will address hip-hop music and film, as well as black women in the industry; one issue will include a story that "busts the myth that black films don't sell overseas," said Kersey-Henley.
Black Talent News continues to sponsor an annual confab, the Infotainment Conference, as well as the Hollywood Black Film Festival.
"We call it the black Sundance," said Kersey-Henley, who noted that 75% of the fest's films get picked up for distribution theatrically, for cable or via other outlets.
