Vancouver, Edmonton stations get pinkslips

TORONTO -- Corus Entertainment is cutting 31 jobs, according to Canadian media reports.

The Toronto-based radio and specialty television company, set up 18 months ago as a spinoff of Canada's second-largest cabler, Shaw Communications, axed posts in Vancouver and at four stations in Edmonton. Last week, it did away with more than 60 jobs, nearly the entire staff of newly acquired specialty channel the Women's Television Network.
