Davis lights tyros' 'Fire'

Butler, Norberg sell story of raid on Nazi a-bomb camp

Fox-based John Davis Entertainment has ponied up six figures from its discretionary fund for spec script "Fire and Water," penned by tyro scribes Jared Butler and Lars Norberg.

Based on a true story, "Fire and Water" centers on international commandos who raid a Nazi outpost in Norway where the Third Reich is developing an atomic bomb.

Helmer John Moore, who directed Fox/Davis upcoming actioner "Behind Enemy Lines," starring Gene Hackman and Owen Wilson, is eyeing the project.

Davis Entertainment director of development Lil Phillips brought "Fire and Water" to the shingle, where it is being shepherded by chairman John Davis and prexy Wyck Godfrey. Fox production veep Emma Watts is overseeing the project for the studio.

Butler and Norberg are repped by Broder Kurland Webb Uffner.
