RealNetworks pacts for p'gramming

BMG, EMI, E!, CNN among providers

RealNetworks on Tuesday said it has cut deals with nearly two dozen media companies to provide programming for its new subscription service RealOne, launching in November. RealOne combines RealNetworks' popular RealPlayer and RealJukebox video and audio software offerings with its GoldPass subscription service.

Warner Music Group, BMG Entertainment, EMI Recorded Music and Zomba will provide music from their catalogs. Other news and entertainment outlets, including ABCNews.com, E! Entertainment Television, Fox Sports, the NBA, the Weather Channel, the Wall Street Journal, Animal Planet, CNET and CNN are also on board to provide programming, while CBS will offer additional footage of "Survivor."
