Robert Satin

Robert Satin, a noted pioneer in the field of show business management, died April 2 of cancer. He was 68.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he graduated from the U. of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and moved to California in 1956 where he began his career as business manager for Fats Domino. Satin went on to represent many top rock 'n' roll performers such as Santana, Van Morrison, the Grateful Dead and Pat Benatar.

In the later stages of his career his practice was increasingly focused on representing actors, writers, directors, and producers in the film and television industries. Satin was also considered one of the foremost experts in the field of royalty accounting.

He is survived by his wife, Dorie, a son and a daughter.

Donations can be made to the Norris Cancer Institute at USC.
