Dorothy Hart

Dorothy Hart, wife of actor Teddy Hart, sister-in-law of composer Lorenz Hart and an accomplished author in her own right, died April 11 at a hospital in Ontario after a yearlong battle with lung and respiratory complications. She was 94.

She started out in show business in the chorus line and later wrote for such magazines as Movieline, for which she interviewed her future husband Teddy.

Her first book, the novel "Reckless Hollywood," was published when she was 28. She also co-wrote "The Complete Lyrics of Lorenz Hart," and later went on to write "Thou Swell, Thou Witty," based on lyrics and life of Larry Hart.

She is survived by a son.

Douglas Edward Green

Douglas Edward Green, Green, an executive producer and assistant director on the "Hawaii Five-0" television series, died from kidney failure in a Monterey, Calif. nursing home on April 11, his family said. He was 78.

In addition to his work on "Hawaii Five-0," Green worked as an a.d. on "Thoroughly Modern Millie" and as a.d. with Bob Fosse on the features "Sweet Charity" and "Cabaret."

Green, 78, had moved to Carmel from Honolulu eight years ago.

Born in Hollywood, he attended USC and served in the military before embarking on a 35-year career in the motion picture and television industry, starting as a second assistant director at Universal Studios. Green was a member of the Directors Guild of America.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and son. No funeral or memorial services are planned. The family said his ashes will be scattered off Oahu, Hawaii.
