Linda Lavin, Samantha Mathis

Linda Lavin and Samantha Mathis will star in "Collected Stories," the second offering in KCET/Hollywood's drama series "PBS Hollywood Presents." Gil Cates is directing the drama, about the relationship between two women, which began production last week in Hollywood. Project, based on the play by Donald Margulies ("Dinner With Friends"), reunites the thesps who, in 1999, starred in the Geffen Playhouse production of this two-woman show, also directed by Cates. Lavin recently wrapped a yearlong run in the Broadway production of "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife." Mathis starred this summer in the TNT mini "The Mists of Avalon."
