Fest in 'Idle' hands

"The Idle Ones" -- Finnish directors Susanna Helke and Virpi Suutari's depiction of youth unemployment in a remote corner of Finland -- won the Grand Prix for best Nordic documentary at the 12th Nordic Panorama, which ended Sunday in Arhus, Denmark.

Organized by Filmkontakt Nord, the showcase included more than 100 shorts and docus screening free to local audiences as well as 310 film professionals registered for the annual event.

Swedish directors Ola Somonsson and Johannes Stjarne Nilsson's "Music for One Apartment and Six Drummers" was voted best Nordic short film, while the audience award went to Norwegian director Knut Erik Jensen's "Cool and Crazy."
