Cartoon confab draws

A record 700 visitors attended the annual Cartoon Forum animation confab, which wrapped Sunday.

Held for the first time in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Cartoon Forum Bavaria attracted visitors from across Europe, including the BBC; Fox Kids; Italy's RAI; French webs TF1, France 2 and France 3; Spanish pubcaster TVE; and local players ARD, ZDF, RTL and Kirch.

The Cartoon Forum presents finished and upcoming European animated TV series. Around 90 productions were at show.

Cartoon, the Brussels-based European animation org that organized the event, said some 265 investors were present, a 20% increase over last year.
