Sally Weeks Congdon

Sally Weeks Congdon, longtime community theater producer and actress, died Sept. 4 of natural causes at her Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. home. She was 79.

She co-founded Theater Current, which operated out of Saint Anne's Church, co-producing numerous plays. She also appeared Off Broadway in "Red Eye of Love."

In addition, she co-founded two Manhattan-based children's theater repertory companies, Silver Button Prods. and Young World Prods.

She most recently served as manager of Women's Project and Productions, a theater in Manhattan.

Born in Binghamton, N.Y., to theater personalities Edwin Weeks and Grace Jillson, she married literary agent Don Congdon in 1951. He survives her, as do a son, daughter and five grandchildren.
