Carlton veep to quit

Nigel Walmsley has ankled his position as deputy chief exec of ITV company Carlton Communications.

Industry vet Walmsley will leave at the end of the year but will continue to act as an advisor to Carlton.

He will not be replaced. Carlton chief exec Gerry Murphy will assume control of the broadcasting, programming production and distribution units.
