HOLLYWOOD -- Suspense novelist Mary Higgins Clark will tout a series of TV movie productions based on her books at a press confab and foreign buyers reception Oct. 9 at Mipcom, the international TV trade show in Cannes.

The telepics are a co-production of producers Sonny Grosso and Larry Jacobson, L.A.-based Rigel Entertainment and Britain's Alltime Entertainment. The half-dozen telepics will air Stateside on Pax TV in November.

Telepics often find favor with foreign TV station buyers because they are far less expensive than feature films and, if high-profile enough, still do decently in the ratings.

Clark is particularly well-known in France, where her 15 novels have sold in excess of 25 million copies.

Among the titles included within the Clark telepic slate are "Loves Music, Loves to Dance" and "Pretend You Don't See Her," both centered around young women involved in mysterious murders.

Prior to these co-productions, Grosso-Jacobson had produced four of Clark's bestsellers for CBS and the Family Channel.

Eight-year-old Rigel will launch worldwide distribution of the telefilms during the Mipcom market.
