Emmy voices its winners

Azaria, DuBois to be feted Sept. 8

Hank Azaria and Ja'Net DuBois nabbed Emmy Awards for voiceover performances on "The Simpsons" and "The PJs," respectively, while TV toon artists from "Futurama," "Gary & Mike" and "Invader Zim" garnered golden nods for individual achievement in animation.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced Monday the juried awards in the latter categories, which have no nominations.

Azaria will be feted for lending his voice to a bevy of characters for "Simpsons" seg "Worst Episode Ever." DuBois caught Emmy's eye for her role as Mrs. Avery on "The PJs" episode "Let's Get Ready to Rumba."

The "Futurama" Emmy, for the episode "Parasites Lost," will be given to storyboard artist Rodney Clouden, and "Invader Zim" storyboard artist Kyle Menke will be awarded for his work on episode "The Nightmare Begins." "Gary & Mike" racked up two kudos: art director Curt Enderle won for "Phish Phry" and Brad Schiff won for "Furry Duffel."

Awards will be passed out Sept. 8 at the Creative Arts Awards, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

The 53rd annual Emmy Awards are set for Sept. 16.
