Kirch, ProSieben in Net pact

Englert to top Kirch Intermedia

LONDON -- German media heavyweight the Kirch Group and its commercial television subsidiary ProSiebenSat 1 Media are bundling their multimedia businesses together to form Kirch Intermedia.

Kirch New Media topper Marcus Englert is moving to head up the entity, which will be 49.9% owned by ProSiebenSat 1, 30.1% by Kirch Media and 20% by Kirch Pay TV.

Kirch Intermedia will house the online arm of ProSieben marketing engine Seven One Interactive, news agency DDP, a majority stake in Kirch's online sports venture Sport 1 and a minority stake in Wetter.com.
