Jack Langdon

Jack Langdon, longtime member of the entertainment industry who worked as a production assistant for CBS and later was exec secretary to George Burns, died July 14 of pancreatic cancer at his home in Hollywood. He was 80.

A native of Sacramento, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In 1951 he joined CBS as a script typist. In 1955 he was promoted to production assistant on "The Jack Benny Show." In 1958 he moved over to Red Skelton's primetime show serving in the same capacity.

The following year he became executive secretary and assistant to comedian Burns, a position he held until Burns' death in 1996.
