Jovovich crashes into 'Dummy' with Brody

'Messenger' thesp to co-star in Pritkin's helming debut

NEW YORK — Milla Jovovich will star with Adrien Brody in “Dummy,” an indie pic that marks the directing debut of Greg Pritikin, who wrote the script.

The pair play best friends, she an aspiring singer in a dysfunctional household who eventually finds her niche in Yiddish music, while he tries to make it as a ventriloquist, saddled with a dummy who embodies his inner doubts. Pic’s produced by Richard Temtchine of Quadrant Films.

Jovovich, who most recently starred in the Luc Besson-directed pics “The Fifth Element” and “Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc,” has wrapped an untitled Western for MGM. Directed by Michael Winterbottom, it co-stars Wes Bentley and Sarah Polley. She’ll also be seen in the Wim Wenders-directed “Million Dollar Hotel,” opposite Mel Gibson and Jeremy Davies.

Jovovich is repped by AMG, ICM and attorney Steve Warren.
