Par travels through time with 'Clock'

'Trek's' Frakes to helm Nick pic

Paramount has greenlit “Clockstoppers,” a live-action pic to be co-produced by Nickelodeon Movies and Gale Anne Hurd.

Actor and director Jonathan Frakes, known for his work on the “Star Trek” film and TV franchise, is attached to direct. David Weiss and J. David Stem (“The Rugrats Movie”) will write the screenplay.

Production sked is unclear, as casting has yet to begin.

Par’s synergistic Nick Movies has found success of late after early struggles. It was behind this year’s “Snow Day,” which has grossed almost $60 million, and will have a “Rugrats” sequel out in the fall.

Hurd, whose credits include “Armageddon” and the “Terminator” pics, teamed with Nick cousin MTV Films in 1998 for “Dead Man on Campus.”

Her Par-based Valhalla Motion Pictures recently inked a five-year, first-look development and production deal with Kinowelt.
