DTS promotes Nee, Neighbors
Company readying for new look in '98
Company prexy/chief operating officer Bill Neighbors announced that Andrea Nee has been given VP/GM stripes for DTS Theatrical, overseeing the company's flourishing flattop trade, and that Susie Daugherty had been upped to manager/North American sales and exhibitor relations.
Nee thus becomes one of the company's senior managers, working with Neighbors and taking on additional oversight for the Westlake Village-based company's blooming Asian and European operations. Nee was the second employee hired at DTS and was previously VP/operations at the outfit.
Daugherty, previously DTS' manager of exhibitor relations, is being given additional responsibility for hardware sales in her new gig. A two-year vet of DTS, Daugherty previously worked for Cineplex Odeon Corp.
Neighbors also announced the hiring of two new executives: Jon Abt as director/corporate marketing and Bill Cohn as controller. Abt will have special purview over DTS' robust branding systems and its overall ad strategy; he comes to DTS from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), which hands out the Grammys each year.
Cohn, previously the CFO of the U.S. Service Corp. and a 25-year vet of the finance/infosystems trench wars, will oversee DTS' financial reporting, analysis and budgeting.
All four employees will be based at DTS headquarters.
