Czech prod'n mints $97 mil

Some $70 million was spent on foreign film services and $27 million on Czech film and commercial production in 2000, according to the Czech Producers' Association (APA).

And Czech films are riding high with local auds. They command 35% of the market and have helped the box office to rise 22%.

The figures were unveiled at the APA panel presided over by APA president Daniel Zavorka during the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, which ended Saturday.
