Babelsberg nabs French laffer 'Ma'

World Brief

French comedy "Ma Femme s'appelle Maurice" is headed to Germany's Studio Babelsberg for a 33-day shoot.

Studio Babelsberg is also understood to be in talks to come on board as a co-financing partner on "Ma Femme," which is being financed by Warners France and directed by Jean-Marie Poire ("Just Visiting").

Based on Raffy Schart's play of the same name, "Ma Femme" begins lensing at Babelsberg at the end of this month. Other projects recently shot at Babelsberg include the Hallmark mini-series "Hans Christian Andersen," Istvan Szabo's "Taking Sides," Roman Polanski's "The Pianist" and Jean-Jacques Annaud's "Enemy at the Gates."
