M6, which cleaned up with "Big Brother"-style reality show "Loft Story," has launched talent-spotting series "Popstars" to rival TF1's "Star Academy."

Both involve bringing together a hand-picked a group of fame-hungry youngsters and choosing the most talented by a process of elimination.
