Revolution inks goat pic scribe
Centeno-Rodriquez ready to take on 'Chupacabra'
Revolution-based William Sherak and Jason Shuman will produce the pic via their Blue Star Pictures shingle, along with John Hegeman of Distant Corners.com.
The chupacabra (literally, "goat-sucker") is part of Puerto Rican folklore, stemming from incidents in which goats were found with their blood drained and two peculiar puncture marks on their necks. Reports of animals dying inexplicably in Puerto Rico have surfaced periodically since the 1970s. Whatever it may be, the creature responsible for a string of animal deaths has generated both fear and satire in this U.S. commonwealth.
Centeno-Rodriquez just adapted the book "Irreparable Harm," the CIA legal thriller about one-time Vietnam based operative Frank Snepp, for producers Robert Greenwald and Liz Selzer-Lang at pay cabler Starz!
He also wrote "Chasing the Dragon" for producer Marco Weber at Atlantic Streamline. "Dragon" follows an unemployed loser who discovers that the trunk of his rental car happens to hold enough premium heroin to end his financial woes for life. Script was adapted from the book "Shoot the Moon" by Joseph Klempner.
Also for Revolution, the trio of Sherak, Shuman and Hegeman are producing the thriller "Tooth Fairy," a classic horror tale delving into the darkside of the Tooth Fairy myth.
Centeno-Rodriguez was repped in the deal by the Genesis tenpercentery and is managed by Tavel Entertainment.
