Exec moves over from Eye

HOLLYWOOD -- Mark Saks has been added to the opening credits for Columbia TriStar TV, joining the studio as senior vice president of casting.

Saks moves over from CBS, where he most recently starred as vice president of talent and casting.

At Columbia TriStar TV, Saks will oversee all casting for the studio's series, made-for-TV movies and pilots. He'll report directly to Tom Mazza, president of network television at CTT, who made the announcement Monday.

"We are very pleased to welcome Mark," Mazza said. "He has a strong reputation for bringing exciting new talent to television, as well as creatively matching projects and established actors. I'm sure he'll be a tremendous asset to us here at Columbia TriStar Television."

In return, Saks said he was "excited to work with Tom Mazza and his team at CTT, both for the diversity of programs they produce and their excellent reputation in the community."

While at the Eye, Saks most recently cast the upcoming series "Danny," starring Daniel Stern, and "The District," starring Craig T. Nelson.

"(CBS toppers) Leslie Moonves and Nancy Tellem have been instrumental in grooming me for this next step in my career," Saks said.

Prior to CBS, Saks spent more than eight years at Warner Bros. Television, serving as director of casting both in New York and Los Angeles. He joined Warner Bros. precursor Lorimar Television in 1990; before that, Saks worked for a variety of independent casting firms.
