MTV Networks nab Mallette

Exec tapped as communications veepee

HOLLYWOOD -- MTV Networks has tapped Wesley Mallette VP, corporate communications.

Mallette, who previously worked at Intimate Brands -- parent of Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works and the White Barn Candle Co. -- replaces Todd Phillips, who ankled from his VP post earlier this year.

Since Phillips' departure, MTV senior veep of corporate communications Linda Alexander, and her team, which includes directors Vanessa Reyes and Ariana Urbont, among others, had been sharing Phillips' responsibilities.

Mallette will now be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of MTV's Santa Monica-based communications department, which includes supporting, developing and managing the execution of strategy for priority programming, brand messaging and corporate and channel business initiatives for the Western region.

Before joining Intimate Brands, Mallette served as director of corporate communications for BET Holdings.In another MTV exec shuffle, Alison Olin has been named director of corporate communications. She will be work with network press departments to develop and implement press strategies in the Western region. Olin will also handle feature film publicity for MTV Films and Nickelodeon Movies.
