In addition to extending the Slamdance brand, venture aims to create and develop a counterpart festival to Slamdance's annual Park City event.
Slamdance is calling for German- produced pics by new filmmakers in all subject matter; entry deadline is July 20.
Headed by co-CEOs Peter Baxter and Marco Weber, Slamdance Entertainment is a joint venture between Atlantic Streamline and the Slamdance Film Festival. Slamdance Entertainment operates as a separate entity from the Slamdance Film Festival.
Germany's Popkomm, the multicomponent trade fair for pop music and entertainment, was established in 1989 and presents a platform for the international pop music industry and its associated businesses. Popkomm takes place in Cologne Aug. 16-18.
