CTG appoints Ramirez

World Brief

Cisneros Television Group (CTG) has named Sergio Ramirez to oversee content and original production, a new post.

Based in Buenos Aires, Ramirez will report to chief operating officer Ralph Haiek, who is slated to become head of pay TV under a planned merger between CTG and Internet company El Sitio to form Claxson Interactive Group.

Content and original production is a new business area, aimed at creating programming for CTG's channels and for free-to-air broadcasters, in association with independent producers.

Prior to joining CTG, Ramirez was director of programming at Argentinean broadcaster America 2. He has also had a long career as a TV producer.
