"Peter Kang is an exceptional executive and I am proud to have him as part of our team at Fox 2000," said production prexy Elizabeth Gabler. "He has a fantastic eye for original material and is constantly on the search for new projects and filmmakers."
Kang joined Twentieth Century Fox in 1996, working for former exec Peter Rice as part of the studio's diversity intern program.
In 1998, Kang was upped to creative exec and worked on projects such as "The Beach," "Planet of the Apes" and "From Hell." Later, at Fox 2000, he supervised the production of Joel Shumacher's "Phone Booth."
In his new post, Kang is developing two projects with Jim Sheridan: "I Know This Much Is True," based on the book by Wally Lamb, and "Sins of the Father," with a screenplay by Stephen Rivele and Chris Wilkinson.
Kang is also overseeing the development of "Tom Harris" from scribe William Broyles Jr., the Harold Ramis-helmed and Gil Netter-produced "Rule Number Three," sci-fi actioner "Echo" from Thai helmer Kaos and a remake of "Journey to the Center of the Earth."
