A&E, History Latin tap Itriago

Exec named VP, managing director

MIAMI -- Francisco Itriago has been named exec VP and managing director for feevees A&E Mundo and History Channel Latin America.

Itriago was chief financial officer for the HBO Latin America Group, which distributes both channels.

He will develop long-term strategies and manage daily operations including marketing, affiliate sales, ad sales, programming and production.

Based in Venezuela, Itriago will divide his time between Caracas and Miami. He is working closely with Christopher O'Keefe, managing director of AETN Intl., on developing new business ventures for both networks in the region.

A&E Mundo is a joint venture backed by A&E Television Networks, Ole Communications, Sony and Time Warner Entertainment. The web has about 10.5 million subscribers.

The History Channel is backed by A&E TV Networks, Ole and TWE. It launched as a branded block in March 2000, became a full channel in October and now has more than 6 million subs.
