Ganeless in USA fold
Program development duties remain with Herzog

Based in Gotham, Ganeless will oversee acquisitions, program scheduling, marketing, on-air promotion and research. She replaces Rob Sorcher, who ankled the post in March after Doug Herzog was named president of USA Network. Unlike Sorcher, however, Ganeless will not have oversight of the net's program development. That responsibility will remain with Herzog.
"Michele will be coordinating the various functions of programming, marketing and research that will allow us to effectively communicate with our audience both on-air and off," said Herzog, to whom Ganeless will report.
"I am thrilled about the opportunity to work with Doug again," said Ganeless, who previously worked with Herzog at Comedy Central and MTV.
As senior VP of programming at Comedy Central, Ganeless was responsible for scheduling, acquisitions, operations, programming research and international sales. She also helped land the cabler rights to "Being John Malkovich" and "Man on the Moon."
Prior to joining Comedy Central in 1996 as VP, programming, Ganeless was VP of research and strategic planning at MTV Networks. Before that, she served as manager of programming research at MTV's Ha! network, which became Comedy Central in 1991.
