Sales Co. taps Perry to top

New topper to o'see sale of 'People,' 'Sleep,' 'Dust'

LONDON -- Former Polygram Film Intl. prexy Aline Perry has been named chief exec of U.K. film sales house the Sales Co.

Perry replaces acting chief exec Jane Wright, who is returning to BBC Films, where she is head of business development. Wright had been filling in since last November.

The Sales Co. is 75%-owned by film financing, production and exploitation company Civilian Content. The remainder is held by BBC Worldwide, the Beeb's commercial arm.

Perry's first tasks include overseeing sales of Michael Winterbottom's "24 Hour Party People," Nick Willing's "Dr. Sleep" and Milcho Manchevski's "Dust."

Perry headed Polygram for seven years and has 20 years' experience in the movie biz. Her credits include "Notting Hill," "Elizabeth," "Fargo" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral."
