USA arrests Wolf's syndie 'Trial'
Show suffered after downgrade in Gotham, L.A.

Repeats of the show, for which 195 half-hour episodes have been completed, will continue for the remainder of the season.
Although the show's national household ratings have been among the top tier of this year's frosh strips, "Arrest & Trial" was dealt a blow in March that did not appear recoverable.
At that time, Chris-Craft Television stations in New York and Los Angeles decided to downgrade the show from its prime access 7:30 p.m. time periods (Daily Variety, March 7).
A company statement released Monday cited the downgrades as the reason behind the decision not to bring the show back. Company also said the show format may be revisited in the future.
Of the dozen firstrun strips that debuted this season, only Twentieth Television's "Power of Attorney," Columbia TriStar TV Distribution's "Judge Hatchett" and Pearson Television's "To Tell the Truth" have locked up renewals.
When "Moral Court," from Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution, was given its walking papers last month, it joined at least five other strips during the 2000-01 TV season that already had been pulled off the air or determined not to be graduating to sophomore status (Daily Variety, May 23).
By contrast, six strips carried over to a second season in 2000-01 from the batch of about 10 that preemed during the 1999-2000 TV season.
