BBC's Lux to head C4 entertainment

World Brief

Broadcaster Channel 4 has confirmed that Danielle Lux, entertainment controller at the BBC, will become C4's new head of entertainment (Daily Variety, May 31).

Lux, 38, will join the edgy terrestrial in the fall and also will hold the position of controller of E4, C4's fledgling digital channel. She is replacing Kevin Lygo, who will become director of programs at Channel 5.

BBC director of television Mark Thompson is understood to have tried hard to convince Lux to stay. The web has not named a replacement.
