Babelsberg fairy tale

Studio Babelsberg's slate of international productions continues to grow. Hallmark Entertainment's "Hans Christian Andersen" is the latest project to shoot at the Potsdam backlot.

The four-hour miniseries, produced by Davina Belling, Clive Parsons and Paul Lowin, with Robert Halmi Jr. and David V. Picker as executive producers, preems in the U.S. in January. Project is being helmed by Philip Saville and stars Kleran Bew, Emily Hamilton and Flora Montgomery.

"Hans Christian Andersen" examines the life of the 19th century Danish fairy-tale author who rose from childhood poverty to fame.
