Tabacoff gets Fox News nod

Vet to o'see 'O'Reilly Factor'

ABC News veteran David Tabacoff has joined Fox News, where he'll serve as executive producer of Bill O'Reilly's broadcast specials.

Tabacoff, who will hold the additional title of senior producer, Fox News, also will oversee the net's No. 1 rated show, "The O'Reilly Factor."

He will report to Kevin Magee, VP of programming and Bill Shine, network producer. Shine, who oversees the net's primetime sked, will now have less creative control over "The O'Reilly Factor."

"Tabacoff brings the news production experience needed to extend the O'Reilly brand," said Magee. When O'Reilly re-upped his Fox News contract in March, the pact called for him to host a series of specials on Fox Broadcasting Network.

Tabacoff was the executive producer of the ABC News' "20/20 Downtown" until he recently opted to accept the net's voluntary separation plan. The primetime newsmag will air this summer, under the supervision of senior producer John Siceloff.

Tabacoff first met O'Reilly in the mid 1980s when he served as director of national news coverage at ABC News' "World News Tonight," where O'Reilly was a national correspondent. He went on to serve as a senior producer at "Nightline" and "20/20."
