Jankowski joins TV Azteca board

Move part of company's plan to improve corporate practices

MEXICO CITY -- Former CBS prexy Gene Jankowski has joined the board of Mexico's No. 2 web, TV Azteca.

Move is part of the company's strategy to improve its corporate practices by appointing a small number of highly regarded outside advisers. Web is launching the Spanish-language U.S. network Azteca America.

"TV Azteca is a very attractive company, leaving its mark on Mexico," Jankowski said. "With the explosive growth of the Spanish-speaking population, it has excellent prospects of growing in the U.S."
