Lucas unit taps Rieders

Robert Rieders has been named general counsel at Lucas Digital, the parent of f/x powerhouse Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound. He will also serve as corporate secretary to the Lucas Digital board of directors, reporting to Alan Keith, chief administrative officer and veep of Lucas Digital.

"Lucas Digital is looking at a future that encompasses continued growth, with projects of scope and size unlike anything in our first 25 years," Keith said. "Rob's background in production will be a major asset as we move forward into digital features production and our other new business ventures."

Rieders most recently served as an attorney and a business affairs exec at Twentieth Century Fox Television, where he worked since 1996. Before that, he was an attorney at entertainment law firm Stein & Kahan (now Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan), and the international law firm of Rogers & Wells (now Clifford Chance Rogers & Wells).
