Carl Nugent

Carl Leon Nugent, a longtime property master and member of Local 44, died June 12 in Ennis, Mont. He was 88.

A property master for more than 40 years, he began his career at MGM, where he first worked on "The Wizard of Oz" holding the Cowardly Lion's tail from the soundstage rafters with a fishing pole as Dorothy and her trio skipped down the Yellow Brick Road.

Additional credits included "Showboat," "Mrs. Miniver," "The Postman Always Rings Twice" and "Anna Karenina."

Nugent also worked on several TV series including "My Three Sons" and "Family Affair."

He is survived by his wife Lucille, two daughters, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
