Bert Henrikson, a veteran costume designer, died Feb. 26 of natural causes in Encinitas, Calif. He was 85.
Henrikson began his costuming career in 1942. He worked on such films as "Some Like It Hot" (1959), "The Great Escape" (1963), "West Side Story" (1961), "Elmer Gantry" (1961), "The Magnificent Seven" (1960), "Friendly Persuasion" (1956), "The Unforgiven" (1960) and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1956).
In addition to his film work, he was active in the IATSE Local 705, Motion Picture Costumers. In 1963, he was elected its president.
From 1960 until his retirement in 1974, Henrikson served as costume department head of Universal Studios.
He is survived by a daughter and a son.
