Premise: The tropical adventures of Little Tom, a tiny gremlin-like animal who's kidnapped from his adoptive parents by Dr. Baracin, a rat and owner of a traveling circus

Selling points: Traditional folklore runs alongside the modern issue of protecting endangered species. The viewer is taken on an exotic journey and introduced to rare animals.

Producer's take: "It's a very sensitive story about someone small who searches all over the world to find his family. The characters are new and different and they behave in surprising ways. We like traveling, and we wanted to incorporate local stories around a global theme," says creator-producer Jean Marc des Rosiers.
