New Line hires two senior prod'n execs

Both will report to prexy Emmerich

Stokely Chaffin and Michele Weiss have joined New Line Cinema as senior members of the company's production team.

Both incoming execs will report to Toby Emmerich, prexy of New Line Prods. They are his first new hires since Michael De Luca and a host of other execs ankled in January.

With eight years of development and production experience, Chaffin is a respected producer. She most recently served as exec veep at Original Films, where she set up more than 25 projects, including "I Know What You Did Last Summer." She is developing a third installment in the hit horror franchise.

Weiss is completing a Ph.D. in comparative lit at NYU.

"Stokely and Michele have vastly different experiences that will both complement and benefit the existing production team as we move forward," said Emmerich. "These two new hires represent the approach we will be taking as we search for new executives to lead New Line's future."
