Chuck Keehne

Chuck Keehne, founder of the Walt Disney Studio's wardrobe department, died Feb. 24 following a long illness at the Motion Picture and Television Fund Home in Woodland Hills. He was 86.

Keehne, who founded the studio's department in 1955 in order to outfit the stars of Walt Disney's "The Mickey Mouse Club," went on to design costumes for Disney's "Zorro" TV series as well as costume Disney films including "Old Yeller," "The Shaggy Dog," "Pollyanna," "The Parent Trap," "The Love Bug" and "Mary Poppins," among others.

Keehne, who retired from the company in 1979 after running the wardrobe department for nearly 25 years, began his career dressing stars for such Warner Bros. films as "Knute Rockne, All American," "Yankee Doodle Dandy" and "El Paso."

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and two granddaughters.
