Singh connects 'Bones'

Schuster, Ramsay, Love to topline slapstick pic

JOHANNESBURG -- Anant Singh, South Africa's best known producer of anti-apartheid films, has teamed with comedian Leon Schuster to make "Mr. Bones," a comedy aimed at international auds.

Pic will star Schuster, David Ramsay ("Pay It Forward," "Three to Tango") and Faizon Love ("The Parent Hood").

Set against the backdrop of South Africa's premier golf tournament, the Sun City Million Dollar Challenge, "Mr. Bones" is a slapstick comedy that follows the misadventures of a golf sensation (Ramsay) and his manager (Love) as they are drawn into a web of chaos spun by a white man (Schuster), who as a boy was brought up by the Kavuki tribe, where he learned to read witch doctors' bones.

Filming is due to be completed by May. Directed by South African Gray Hofmeyr, the feature is slated for local release in December.
