Fox sets sights on new Aussie series

Cast being rounded up for hostel skein

SYDNEY -- Fox Studios Australia and Fox Television Studios will begin shooting at the Fox lot in May a drama serial of 65 half-hours for Fox channels around the world.

Set in a backpackers' hostel in inner Sydney, skein will air simultaneously on Britain's BSkyB, Australia's Foxtel, and the Fox entertainment channels in Spain, Latin America and Japan.

Creator Jimmy Thompson and producer David Taylor are recruiting a multinational cast to play characters from Oz, Europe, Asia and the Americas.
